That parking spot in front of the bank will forever be the last place I saw my A4
... or not. The new owner lives a couple of miles away from me and has a vanity place . I’m thinking this won’t actually be the last time I see her.
But she is !!!error: Indecipherable SUB-paragraph formatting!!! ! The first and only guy who came to see it paid me the full asking price this morning. And I already had like five more people lined up to see it. A de facto NP. I do feel like staying under $5K was important, so I’m quite pleased with how I did.
The whole experience was actually not really painful at all . And although I didn’t get my dream buyer flying down from rural Quebec and road tripping her back to play in the snow, I feel like she’s going to a great home.

Congrats! I had a similar experience when I sold my Si. Full price, generally easy experience.

1st and foremost, congratulations on selling the Avant. One can only dream of selling it the way you did!
But, I have questions. And it starts with your leading photos — it brings back memories. Pretty sure drunk boredalways hit up that very ATM sometime between 1999-2001* at least once bouncing around bars from the Lower Haight to the Mission.
But, I digress. I want to know how recent your photo is? I went to Google Maps to get my bearings back and found these two photos:
(pretty sure the Radio Shack is no longer there in 2019)
2nd question, is the Safeway at Church & Market still a “meat market** ”?
*I lived at Hayes & Clayton back then
** my nickname for that store because every other customer would be dressed as if they were looking for a one night stand.

My photo is from this morning! It’s the last pic I snapped as I was walking out after the deal was done.
The RadioShack has been gone for probably well over a year by now, and that building’s been blue for a while longer. It has a beautiful mural facing the parking lot on the side opposite the bank. I’d say walking past there would be a strange (and hilly) way of walking between Lower Haight and the Mission, but I guess these days you’d just hop on the 24 or an Uber. SF is still here, despite what anybody may say :)

Oh, and about the Safeway... I would say definitely not. It’s more known as a homeless hangout these days. There’s a Whole Foods across Market on Dolores now, which is where I’d much rather go do that now . It’s all about the apps these days anyway. I was surprised to see the Fort Mason Safeway featured on Tales of the City as a “meat market”, but it makes perfect sense !
